MHVI information for parents

MHVI provides services to parents and primary caregivers such as grandparents, adoptive, and foster parents. MHVI visits are free and voluntary.
  • Your family can receive free and voluntary home visiting services from a family support specialist, often called a home visitor trained to understand the needs of pregnant and parenting families
  • Your family participates in visits delivered in your home or where you feel comfortable
  • Through home visits, your family support specialist will help you set goals and support you to meet your goals
  • Your family will meet other families through groups offered by MHVI programs

Home visits may include:

  • Support in connecting to health care
  • Information on child development and early learning
  • Parenting support (for example, support with breastfeeding and care for your baby)
  • Support in setting and achieving goals for your future
  • Help finding employment and childcare
