Nurse Aide Registry Program Vendor Change FAQs

DPH has entered into a contract with D&S Diversified Technologies (D&S) to provide nurse aide certification testing services. D&S works with many other states and has considerable experience in supporting nurse aide testing operations. Review the questions and answers below to learn more about this change.

What do I need to submit to apply to test?

You must register online and follow the instructions on your confirmation email regarding test day requirements. Please visit the Massachusetts Nurse Aide page of the D&S website and submit a completed application with signatures, supporting documentation, and payment.

You need a credit card for payment to complete the application process online.  Mailing of payment is also offered.

If you need to mail your payment, you may request a Candidate Payment Form 1402CND-MA by calling D&S at (888) 401-0462 during business hours 8am to 8pm (est) M-F to request the form. Once the form is completed, it would be mailed along with your money order, cashier’s check or facility check to P.O. Box 6609, Helena, MT 59604.

How do I apply for testing accommodations?

Go to the Massachusetts Nurse Aide page of the D&S website for instructions to request a test accommodation.

Can I take my exam at home?

Remote testing for the written portion of the D&S exam is available as a testing option.  Candidates must have two internet-connected devices available for the test.  Please go to the Massachusetts Nurse Aide page of the D&S website for additional information.

How long is the exam?

The D&S written exam is 60 minutes and the clinical exam is 30 minutes.

What if I am late for testing?

You are required to arrive 30 minutes prior to your test time. If you arrive late and the test is already in session, you will not be allowed to test and will have to pay to reschedule.

Where should I check if I have questions concerning preparation for the test and the test day?

I just took the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation. Can the Nurse Aide Registry tell me the status of my results or if I passed?

No. Your test results will be provided by D&S.

How do I cancel or reschedule my exam appointment?

If you are scheduled to test with D&S, you can reschedule your test site and/or date online by logging into your account at Massachusetts Nurse Aide page of the D&S website or by calling D&S toll free at (888) 401-0462 up to 1 business day prior to the test event.
