Office of Language Access (OLA) orientation and ethics exam

As part of the credentialing process, all candidates must take and complete an online self–paced 12-hour orientation provided by the De la Mora Institute.

The orientation includes an ethics exam component. There is a separate registration process for the orientation, and a $150 non-refundable fee for non-staff OLA interpreters.

All candidates must complete the entire orientation and ethics exam within 30 days of registering for the orientation and cannot proceed to the written exam registration without fully doing so. Upon successful completion, each candidate will receive a certificate of completion from the De la Mora Institute. The completion certificate is required to proceed to the Written Exam registration step and must be uploaded on the registration form. The Orientation Completion Certificate will be valid for three years.

Important notice: Registration is ongoing and open at all times.
