Refugee School Impact Program (RSI)

The Refugee School Impact (RSI) Program is designed to assist school districts in meeting the needs of refugee children. Its primary goal is to identify and address gaps in services for refugee school-aged children and their families. RSI promotes effective partnerships between local refugee service providers and public schools. The program aims to bridge gaps in services for refugee students while offering tailored support to those entering the public school system.

Services Include:

• English Language Learning (ELL) support – specifically for academic needs
• Access to technology-learning opportunities
• Bilingual and bicultural School Counselors/Aides to enhance teacher-student and teacher-parent communication
• After-school and summer programming ranging from dance lessons to college counseling
• Resources for parents seeking to increase involvement in their child’s education

Are You Eligible?

RSI services may be provided to all ORR-eligible individuals* enrolled full-time in elementary, middle, or high school (or the equivalent thereof), and their parents.
