The Center for New Americans serves immigrants, refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers in Western Massachusetts. The organization offers free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), career preparation free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), career preparation assistance, support services and immigration legal services.

CACCI accomplishes its mission by providing services primarily in the areas of access to public health insurance and care; childcare subsidy and provider support services; immigration services; emergency shelter; SNAP benefits assistance; and free tax preparation during tax season. During the months of November and December it offers holiday programs. CACCI works with community partners to mobilize resources and to support economic and social opportunities.

For over 23 years, the CEDC has focused on understanding residents’ and businesses’ needs through active engagement within the community. The Congolese Development Center (CDC) serves newcomers from diverse cultural backgrounds from many parts of the world.  CDC provides services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner. CDC has been working with other providers, such as New American Center, International Institute of New England, Refugee Immigrant and Assistance Center, Catholic Charities Boston, Jewish Family Services, to welcome and help many individuals and families here in Massachusetts.

Department of Children and Families

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) works in partnership with families and communities to keep children safe from abuse and neglect.  DCF also supports young adults ages 18-22 who are transitioning out of DCF care and into independent living.  In many cases, DCF is able to provide services to families to help them keep their children safe at home.  When it is necessary, DCF provides foster care or finds permanent families for children though kinship care, guardianship, or adoption.

DPH promotes and protects health and wellness and prevents injury and illness for all people. We prioritize racial equity in health by improving equitable access to quality public health and health care services and partnering with communities most impacted by health inequities and structural racism.

East Boston Community Council

Moving to a new country and leaving your home behind is one of the most difficult endeavors to do, especially when you may not know the language in your new country. Our goal at EBCC is to do what we can to make it easier. We’re a nonprofit organization hosting and developing immigration services in Boston, MA, for all ages and nationalities. We are a nonprofit agency that provides free, high-quality legal services to permanent residents to help them become U.S. citizens. Project Citizenship offers free workshops, eligibility screening, application assistance, legal referrals, and all materials needed to apply for U.S. citizenship. In addition, Project Citizenship works collaboratively with community-based partners in New England to provide a range of support services, civics instruction, application assistance, and ESOL classes.

Somali Development Center (Roxbury)

Since 1996, the Somali Development Center (SDC) has been the lifeline to vital educational and social services for Boston’s growing Somali refugee and immigrant community. SDC was founded by a group of Somali-Americans who originally came to the U.S. to obtain higher education. In 1991, when a full-scale civil war started in Somalia, it forced millions of people to flee from the cities in Somalia into the neighboring states of Ethiopia and Kenya. As a result, the United States government, through its refugee resettlement program, settled thousands of Somalis in the U.S.
