Solar PV

LBE Solar-Decarbonization Grant  Administered by DOER, this program provides enhanced incentives for new state solar PV deployment, battery energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and decarbonization efforts to provide financial support to state entities in meeting EO 594 targets and objectives.

Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) ⇒ Administered by DOER, this program provides incentives for solar PV and accompanying energy storage systems.

Solar Energy Credits ⇒ Program participants generate revenue by selling renewable energy such as the solar renewable energy credits (SCREC) and renewable energy credits (Class 1 and Class 2 RECs).

Federal Tax Credits for Solar ⇒ Solar projects may be eligible for between 6%-30% cost coverage, with additional bonuses for installations in energy or low-income communities or tribal lands and/or use of domestic content. Guidance on how public entities may take advantage of this tax credit is forthcoming.

Battery Energy Storage

LBE Solar-Decarbonization Grant  COMING SOON

ConnectedSolutions ⇒ Commercial programs through Mass Save offer incentives to entities for dispatching electricity from their batteries during periods of peak demand.

Demand Response Programs ⇒ DCAMM helps state facilities earn money and use less electricity through real time demand response, on-peak reduction, and cap tag management.

Mass Save Demand Response & Storage ⇒ Homes and small businesses earn incentives for allowing the grid to draw energy stored in batteries during times of peak electricity demand

Clean Peak Energy Standard ⇒ Administered by DOER, this program provides incentives to clean energy technologies that can supply electricity or reduce demand during seasonal peak demand periods established by DOER.

Federal Tax Credits for Energy Storage Technologies ⇒ Energy storage technology projects may be eligible for between 6%-30% cost coverage, with additional bonuses for installations in energy or low-income communities or tribal lands and/or use of domestic content. Guidance on how public entities may take advantage of this tax credit is forthcoming.

Renewable Thermal

Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (APS) ⇒ Administered by DOER, the APS provides requirements and incentives for alternative electricity technologies such as air- and ground-source heat pumps, solar thermal, woody biomass, advanced liquid biofuels, biogas, and compost heat exchange systems.

Federal Tax Credits for Renewable Thermal ⇒ Geothermal (ground-source heat pump) projects may be eligible for between 6%-30% cost coverage, with additional bonuses for installations in energy or low-income communities or tribal lands and/or use of domestic content. Guidance on how public entities may take advantage of this tax credit is forthcoming.
