Description
South Triangle Pond WMA consists of 9 acres of mixed upland forest dominated by white pine in the Town of Plymouth. The WMA abuts two larger conservation areas; Plymouth Town Forest WCE and South Triangle Pond WCE.
Location, access, & parking
Limited roadside parking is available on Drew Road. Additional parking and access is obtained through the South Triangle Pond WCE and Plymouth Town Forest WCE. See WMA map.
Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.
Hunting opportunities
There are opportunities to pursue white-tailed deer, wild turkey, eastern coyote, waterfowl, and aquatic furbearers on this WMA especially when combined with the nearby WCEs.
Fishing opportunities
The WMA has approximately 1,000 feet of frontage on South Triangle Pond which provides good opportunities for fishing for warmwater species like largemouth bass, pickerel, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and yellow perch.
Wildlife viewing & other features
There are good opportunities for viewing both game and non-game species such as waterfowl, white-tailed deer, furbearers, and songbirds. South Triangle Pond provides good habitat for many rare and endangered species.
