Overview
The State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a list of projects prepared yearly by The Office of Transportation Planning. The list includes projects such as:
- Bicycle Paths
- Bridges
- Roadways
- Sidewalks
- Transit Investments
The STIP is a combined effort between MassDOT and many state agencies that work together to design and build highways and transit projects.

Statewide Revisions for FFY 2025 - 2029 STIP
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announces the proposed amendment to the following statewide project on the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Federal Fiscal Years 2025 to 2029. The changes are to the projects listed below:

- Project Description: Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (FFY 2025)
- Revised Project Description: Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (FFY 2022 – 2025)
- Current Cost: $11,750,000
- Revised Cost: $62,457,040
- Summary of Amendment: Federal apportionment carryover balances from FFYs 2022, 2023, and 2024 are being moved into FFY 2025 to increase the total programmed amount in National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program funding in FFY 2025 from $11.75 million to $62.5 million. This change is needed to fund electric vehicle charging projects across the Commonwealth and make use of previously apportioned funding that has not yet been obligated.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Information
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), signed into federal law on November 15, 2021, authorized $350 billion for highway and $108 billion for public transportation over fiscal years 2022 through 2026 for improvements to roads and bridges, public transportation, rail, and other transportation infrastructure.
