The Healey-Driscoll Administration is committed to preserving jobs for health care workers affected by the closure and transition of Steward Hospitals to new operators.  

For employees

For employees of the hospitals that have transitioned to new operators, the Commonwealth has been working closely with the new owners of the former Steward hospitals, and unions, and other health care providers to keep employees in place in the facilities in which they work as much as possible.  Most employees have continued their jobs under the new ownership. 

Employees of the hospitals that have closed have been offered support and assistance from the MassHire Rapid Response program to identify other health care jobs at other facilities. Employees can get assistance signing up for services such as unemployment.
