Vaccine Clinic Management Platform

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MDPH’s) Vaccine Clinic Management Platform is a digital application that allows providers in the Commonwealth to streamline their vaccination clinics.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MDPH’s) Vaccine Clinic Management Platform is a digital application that allows providers in the Commonwealth to streamline their vaccination clinics.

MDPH’s Immunization Division is committed to promoting the health of residents of the Commonwealth by reducing the burden of vaccine-preventable disease. As part of this effort, MDPH provides an online, digital interface that collects registration information including demographics and insurance information and schedule vaccination appointments.

MDPH provides a Vaccine Clinic Management platform free of charge to health departments and other organizations including EMS, VNAs, Community Health Centers, Schools and others providing vaccines to the public. MDPH uses Color, a platform that enables scheduling, registration, automatic transmission of vaccination records to the MIIS and the single designated third-party billing service used by the Department.

Key features

DPH’s Vaccine Clinic Management platform has many key features:

  •  A paperless system, which eases the administrative burden on staff and maintains data for current and future clinic operations
  •  A user-friendly registration system
    • Staff can distribute registration links ahead of time
    • “On-the-spot” walk-in and mobile clinics are supported
  • Automatic transmission of vaccination records to the MIIS
  • Integration with the designated third-party billing service used by MDPH for billing and reimbursement
  • Dashboards that can track data at the patient and aggregate levels

  • Ability to administer different vaccine groups. The platform is currently enabled for COVID-19, the full pediatric and adult immunization schedules, as well as other vaccines outside of the schedule upon request.

MDPH currently uses Color as its Vaccine Clinic Management platform.
