What does MassAbility do?

MassAbility expands what’s possible in the lives of people with disabilities.

MassAbility breaks down barriers and empowers people with disabilities to live independent lives on their own terms. Our programs and services expand possibilities in careers and training, home and community life, and legal rights and benefits.

What we’re about

Vision

We envision a Commonwealth that is open to all, where everyone can seize their true potential and contribute fully to our communities and the world.

Mission

We work together to break down barriers and make a better state possible for people with disabilities–one that is truly equitable, accessible, and inclusive.

Core principles

At MassAbility, our core principles guide our work, our relationships with our partners, and every interaction we have with our participants.

  • People first: We define what we do, first and foremost, by the impact it has on those we serve. Our goal is not just to deliver services; it’s to empower people to live life on their own terms.
  • We are change agents: Together with our stakeholders and partners, we are changing life in Massachusetts for the better, making it more equitable, accessible, and inclusive for people with disabilities. We break down barriers, set standards, and lead the way forward.
  • Community matters: We cannot achieve our vision alone. That’s why community is integral to what we do. We stand with our partners, allies, and individuals with disabilities, and we measure our success in the relationships we build and nurture. We take every opportunity to amplify the voice of our community.
  • Our work is for all: We partner with people with disabilities–and what we do benefits everyone. Inclusivity is good for society, good for business, good for our culture. When we break down barriers, we make life better for all.
