To help you become more independent, our Home Care Program pairs you with a dedicated case manager who will work with you to coordinate a wide range of in-home services. These services are provided by a trained homemaker and include meal preparation, grocery shopping, medication pick-up, and light housekeeping.
General services do not include heavy chores, financial management, medication monitoring, childcare, or taking you to appointments (although a Home Care case manager can often assist you in finding such services).
Service disputes between you and your provider can be resolved by a Home Care case manager.
The provision of Home Care services are subject to available funding and dependent upon availability of resources and providers identified in the Service Plan. Eligible individuals will be prioritized for services according to the date they were deemed eligible.
Important Update on Supported Living and Home Care Services
From September 15 through December 15, MassAbility will focus on completing service reevaluations for current Home Care participants, while working with our provider community to better understand workforce capacity and the ability to meet current and future service needs.
Providers continue to face challenges recruiting and retaining direct care workers, and recent changes to federal Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians have created additional pressure for the direct care workforce. Haitian workers represent an important part of this workforce in Massachusetts, which could lose approximately 2,000 direct care workers from these changes.
By assessing service demand, provider capacity, and available funding together, MassAbility can better plan for future needs and support the responsible delivery of high-quality, sustainable services.

MassAbility will contact you regarding your service reevaluation. We ask that you please respond promptly to our outreach so we can complete your revaluation.
