Most positions are short-term seasonal positions with a 40-hour work week, including weekends and holidays. Part-Time lifeguard and instructor positions (up to 20 hours per week) may be available.
Not everyone is ready to take a lifeguarding course.
You may need extra time preparing for the distance swim, strengthening your kicks so as to be able to tread water for two minutes without your hands, or preparing for the timed event.
