Stavros Center For Independent Living
Details
Overview
Stavros is a Center for Independent Living led by and for people with disabilities. Our mission is to give people the tools to take charge of their life choices, act on their own behalf, and build independence in the community. We believe independence is not charity—it is a right.
With offices in Amherst and Springfield, Stavros serves all of Western Massachusetts. Our peer advocates and counselors work with people of any age and any disability to overcome barriers to housing, employment, health care, and daily living. One of our most important roles is helping people transition from nursing homes and other institutions back into the community—or preventing institutionalization in the first place.
