Mental Health & Wellness Program

Getting support isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of strength. Don’t let embarrassment, vulnerability, stigma or shame hold you back, reach out and find farm community supports.

Farmers often face unique stressors – such as scarce days off, changes in weather, inflation, commodity prices and labor shortages, just to name a few and typically will not ask for help. This is why it’s vital for families, friends and associates to understand how to identify signs that a fellow farmer may be experiencing mental health issues and to know how to respond.

MassGrown Wellnesss offers information and resources on mental health and wellness for the Commonwealth’s agricultural community while supporting the development of peer support networks throughout the state.

Online screening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Online screening tools are meant to be a quick insight on your mental health. If your results indicate you may be experiencing symptoms of a mental health distress, consider sharing your results with someone. A mental health provider (such as a doctor or a therapist) can give you a full assessment and talk to you about options on how to feel better.
