Disabled Veteran Annuity Benefits 

Massachusetts provides a financial annuity to 100% disabled veterans, Gold Star parents, and unmarried surviving spouses of deceased veterans.

Veteran Bonuses 

The Veterans’ Bonus Division provides bonus payments to veterans, service members, and their families who listed Massachusetts as their home of record for at least six months before military service and served during a wartime period or combat operation.

Local Veteran Property Tax Exemption 

Eligible veterans may receive a property tax exemption if their municipality has opted into the program.

The RMV makes certain exemptions from regular procedures and waives certain fees for military service members, veterans, and their spouses/dependents.

Active Duty Service Buyback 

Employees of the Commonwealth are eligible to “buy back” up to four years of active duty service. This ‘buy back’ allows an employee to pay a lump sum of money to “purchase” up to four years of Commonwealth service and receive credit toward their pension.
