BOSTON — On September 12, 2024, the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) hosted our annual Visions of Employment Webinar, designed to help employers create supportive environments for employees who are legally blind. The event featured a presentation by Employment Services Supervisor Carol Cullins and Employment Services Specialist Daniel Martin, along with compelling success stories from both employers and employees. Attendees gained valuable guidance on workplace accommodations, assistive technology, training programs, and resources, designed to assist before, during, and after the hiring process.

The webinar showcased the incredible partnerships between forward-thinking employers and talented employees who are legally blind. By sharing their experiences, these participants emphasized how employers can tap into a pool of skilled professionals, while making their workplaces more inclusive.
Our Assistive Technology team provided a demonstration of innovative tools and equipment to support employees who are legally blind in the workplace. Watch an extended version of this demonstration to see these technologies in action.
