BostonIn the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic and a State of Emergency declared in Massachusetts, Attorney General Maura Healey announced today that her office is shifting to remote work where possible as a precaution. The Office is not aware of any employees who have tested positive (or presumptively positive) for COVID-19.

“In light of concerns around the Coronavirus outbreak, our office will begin working remotely starting tomorrow to protect our employees, their families, and those we interact with on a daily basis,” said AG Healey. “Our work as the People’s Law Firm will continue as we adapt to this public health crisis. We want to assure residents that they will have access to the resources and help they need.”

Beginning March 13, the AG’s Office will encourage all staff, including staff in Boston and the regional offices in New Bedford, Springfield and Worcester, to work remotely. Attorneys will continue to appear in court as necessary, contingent on the status of the courts. Outreach events held by the AG’s Community Engagement Division have also been cancelled or rescheduled, but the Division will be offering three webinars next week on immigration law, competitive electric supply, and scams and identity theft. To join those webinars, please RSVP here

The AG’s hotlines will still be fully staffed during the regular hours. Walk-ins to the AG’s physical office locations will not receive in-person service. Walk-ins will be encouraged to file complaints online or call our office.

Earlier this week, AG Healey issued a consumer advisory with resources and guidance from the office on consumer scams and workers’ rights, which can be accessed here. The AG’s Office encourages anyone with questions or concerns to contact the office at the numbers or links below:
