BOSTON – The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is inviting the public to watch the 2025 Low Number Plate Lottery drawing on Wednesday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m. The livestream link is: https://vimeo.com/event/5322765.
A total of 18,867 state residents applied for the 2025 Low Number Plate Lottery by the application deadline, which was the end of the business day on Friday, August 15. This year, there are 282 plates available through the lottery. Some of the available low plates include 42, 108, 1997, 12K, X8 and A78.
Applicants did not need to pay a fee to apply for the lottery. However, should the applicant be selected as a winner, there is a special plate fee that will be required, as well as a standard registration fee. Winners will be notified by mail if selected for a low number plate. All low number plates have a biennial $40.00 special plate fee, along with a registration fee of $60.00. The low plate initial registration fee may vary, depending upon the owner’s current plate expiration date and the expiration date of the owner’s winning plate number.
Customers are encouraged to visit Mass.Gov/lowplatelottery or follow @MassRMV on X (formerly Twitter), for details about the lottery drawing taking place on Wednesday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m.
