Boston — The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is announcing that the Service Center in Brockton, at 490 Forest Avenue, will be reopening for business on Monday, February 10. The service center had been temporarily closed due to flooding that occurred when a water pipe burst in January. This location will be resuming normal business hours on February 10: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“We are pleased that the RMV Brockton Service Center is ready to be reopened for business,” said Acting Registrar Jamey Tesler. “The necessary renovations have now been completed, and RMV services will now be available for customers in this region. We thank our customers who may have traveled to alternative locations during the temporary closure, and apologize for any inconvenience.”
Beginning the week of February 10, the RMV service centers in Braintree, Plymouth and Taunton will resume normal business hours, and will no longer have extended hours on Fridays.
The Registry recommends that all customers, “Start Online First,” to review more than 40 transactions and services that are available, (such as paying a fee, scheduling a road test, and renewing a registration,) and “Get Ready” online before visiting a service center. For more information and to start transactions, go to Mass.gov/rmv.
