Media Contact for Registry of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Center Closed Until Further Notice
Boston — The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is announcing that the Roslindale Customer Service Center, located at 4210 Washington Street in Boston, is closed until further notice due to a facility issue which occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 20.
The Service Center is located within a building owned by the City of Boston, and conversations are underway to understand the timeframe of future operational implications. Meanwhile, customers who usually visit the Roslindale location may visit other nearby Registry locations, are encouraged to go online to www.mass.gov/rmv for some transactions, or visit a AAA location if the customer is a member of AAA.
“We are sorry for this inconvenience to our customers and will appreciate everyone’s patience as we work with the City of Boston to understand the longer term service implications,” said Acting Registrar Jamey Tesler. “Due to this facility issue, the Roslindale RMV will remain temporarily closed, and we encourage customers who need a transaction done in-person to do so at a nearby location, or at a nearby AAA office if the customer is a member of AAA.”
The Registry’s staff who would work normally out of the Roslindale location will be temporarily reassigned to other customer service centers.
Suspension hearings, learners’ permits and road tests have not been historically performed at this location, and customers in the Roslindale area in need of a license credential, or registration and title transaction may visit nearby locations in Watertown, Braintree, or the Boston Service Center, (at the Haymarket MBTA Orange Line Station), 136 Blackstone Street, Boston.
