Media Contact for Registry of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Center Temporarily Closed
Boston — The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is announcing that the Brockton Customer Service Center, at 490 Forest Avenue, is temporarily closed due to flooding caused by a water pipe that burst in the ceiling on Sunday, January 19. Building materials damaged by water must be removed and repairs to the location may take more than one week. Customers who usually visit the Brockton location will be referred to other nearby Registry locations, encouraged to go online for some transactions, or visit an AAA location if the customer is a member of AAA.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience to customers who would normally be able to conduct transactions at the service location in Brockton,” said Acting Registrar Jamey Tesler. “Because of this facility issue we must close the Brockton location temporarily, but customers who need a transaction done in-person can perform that transaction at nearby locations, including at AAA offices if the customer is a member of AAA.”
The Registry’s staff who would work normally out of the Brockton location are being temporarily reassigned to customer service centers in Taunton, Fall River, Braintree and Haymarket in Boston. For some specific business transactions, customers should note the following:
Customers in the Brockton area in need of License Credentials, Registration and Title, and/or Learner’s Permits may visit:
Braintree Service Center - 10 Plain Street, Braintree, MA 02184
Fall River Service Center – 1794 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720
Plymouth Service Center – 40 Industrial park Road, Plymouth, MA 02360
Taunton Service Center – 1 Washington Street, Taunton, MA 02780
Customers who are required to participate in suspension hearings should visit the following locations:
Fall River Service Center – 1794 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720
Boston Service Center – 136 Blackstone Street, Boston, MA 02109
All road tests that were previously scheduled at the Brockton Service Center will now be held at the service centers in Braintree and Taunton. Please visit either location on the day of your scheduled road test and the Road Test Examiner will administer your road test.
The Registry recommends that customers “Start Online First” to review more than 40 transactions and services that are available, such as paying a fee, scheduling a road test, and renewing a registration, and “Get Ready” online before visiting a service center.
