RMV Business Services in Chicopee will Transfer to Springfield as of September 8
Move will consolidate services at the Springfield Service Center
BOSTON — The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) announced today that the Chicopee Service Center, which serves business customers only and is not open to the public, will transfer services to the Springfield Service Center beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The RMV is currently notifying business customers, including auto dealers and insurance agents, about the transition to the Springfield location. The move will allow the RMV to consolidate and maximize the efficiency of its business services in the region. Staff currently assigned to the Chicopee location will be reassigned to the Springfield Service Center to support these services.
“We are working to ensure this transition is smooth for our business partners,” said Registrar of Motor Vehicles Colleen Ogilvie. “By relocating these services to Springfield, the RMV will continue providing dealers and insurance agents with the support they need while maintaining continuity of service in the region.”
The timeline for the transition is as follows:
- September 3, 2026 – Last day dealers and insurance agents can drop off transactions in Chicopee
- September 4, 2026 – Last day dealers and insurance agents can pick up transactions in Chicopee
- September 5, 2026 – Chicopee B2B Service Center closes
- September 8, 2026 – Chicopee B2B services begins operating from the Springfield RMV Service Center
The move will not affect RMV services provided to the general public in Springfield, and will ensure continuity of operations for all business customers in the region.
