It is hereby ordered that, in accordance with the provisions of Supreme Judicial Court Rule 1:11, as amended June 3, 2026 and effective July 1, 2026, case papers and records may be destroyed in the following cases files during the period shown, and which have been or are deemed to be finally disposed of for ten years or more:

Criminal, Civil, Small Claims, Supplementary Process, and Summary Process cases from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015 with the following exceptions: 

  • 2% sample retained for cases ending in "00" or "50"
  • A random sample of 20 case records for minor violation records for each year
  • Cases appealed to the Supreme Judicial Court

Destruction of these records is to commence on or after 30 days from the date posted on the court division's webpage and having obtained all required signatures of approval to the Public Notice Regarding Destruction of Records. Certification is hereby made that the dockets for any case records to be destroyed contain essential information including information sufficient to permit execution on a judgment within twenty years after the date of the judgment. 

The public is invited to comment or object to this proposal within 30 days of this notice. Please direct any comments or objections to the proposed destruction of these records in writing to:
