Protecting People From ICE

Governor Maura Healey is taking action to protect the people of Massachusetts from Donald Trump's federal immigration agents and their unlawful, un-American tactics.

Federal Misconduct Portal

Governor Healey and Attorney General Andrea Campbell launched an online portal allowing Massachusetts residents to report alleged misconduct by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other federal agencies enforcing civil immigration laws.

Filing a report does not generate a complaint or start a lawsuit on your behalf.  For questions on your legal rights or responsibilities, please contact a private lawyer.

Keeping ICE Out of Sensitive Locations

Governor Healey filed legislation to keep ICE out of courthouses, schools, child care programs, hospitals and churches.

Governor Healey signed Executive Order No. 650 which prohibits civil arrests by ICE agents in nonpublic areas of state facilities unless authorized by a judicial warrant, any office or agency in the Executive Department entering a 287(g) agreement with ICE, and state facilities being used by ICE agents as a staging area, processing location, or operations base.

Governor Healey and Attorney General Campbell are reminding communities that ICE does not have the right to enter non-public campus facilities, including dormitories, without a valid judicial warrant or order. Attorney General Campbell released a “Know Your Rights” guide that is designed to help immigrants understand their rights and basic legal framework for ICE’s actions.
