Annual funding opportunities and industry-specific grants are available to expand more registered apprenticeship programs in Massachusetts.

About GROW Grants

GROW (Grants for Registered Apprenticeship Opportunities in Workforce) Grants helps employers hire talent, expand their teams, and build strong apprenticeship pipelines. Funding opportunities include:

  • GROW Expansion Industry Apprenticeship
  • GROW Construction & Building Trades Inclusion Apprenticeship
  • GROW Innovation Grants
  • GROW Pre-Apprenticeship Training and Services
  • GROW Planning Grants
  • GROW Early Childhood Education 
     

FY27 GROW Apprenticeship Intermediary Grants RFR

Applicants may apply to serve as either a GROW Apprenticeship Intermediary Hub or a GROW Healthcare Apprenticeship Intermediary Hub.

Funding highlights

  • Up to $6,500 per Registered Apprentice
  • Awards up to $650,000

  • Priority application deadline: August 18, 2026

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants include MassHire Workforce Boards and Career Centers, employer and industry associations, labor unions and joint labor-management organizations, community-based and nonprofit organizations, for-profit entities, employer consortiums, consulting organizations, secondary schools, colleges and universities, and other eligible consortiums.

Registered Apprenticeship Tax Credit (RATC)

Apprenticeship program sponsors may be eligible for a tax credit of 50% of an apprentice’s wages in a taxable year, up to $4,800 per apprentice. Sponsors can receive up to $100,000 in total tax credits each year. Eligibility depends on several factors, including the apprentice’s occupation, employment duration, and the employer’s registration and compliance status with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
