314 CMR 18.00 protects the public health, safety and the environment by providing construction, operation, and record keeping requirements for holding tanks, mobile tanks, and containers that accumulate or store industrial wastewater prior to off-site recycling, treatment or disposal. It directs owners and operators of industrial wastewater holding tanks to comply with these standards, submit a performance-based compliance certification, and keep necessary records.
