454 CMR 30.00 sets forth professional employer organization regulations. A professional employer organization (PEO) is any person engaged in the business of providing professional employer services who is subject to registration and regulation pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, §§ 192 through 203, regardless of the use or lack of use of the commonly used terms such as "professional employer organization", "PEO", "staff leasing company", "registered staff leasing company", "employee leasing company", "administrative employer" or other name.
