Representation

We are authorized to determine appropriate bargaining units giving due regard to such criteria as community of interest, efficiency of operations, and safeguarding effective representation.

There are five different types of representation petitions that can be filed with us: union representation petitions; written majority authorization petitions; union decertification petitions; employer-initiated petitions; and unit clarification petitions. This page will provide you with an overview of representation cases.
