Massachusetts administers the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). The UBE is a two day exam consisting of Written portions - the Multi-state Performance Test (MPT) and the Multi-state Essay Exam (MEE) on Tuesday - day 1, and the Multi-State Bar Examination (MBE) on Wednesday- day 2. The bar exam is currently held in Boston and Springfield, MA. Exact locations and times are subject to change so it is important for petitioners to be aware of the information pertinent to the current exam. Details will be available prior to the Petition for Admission by Examination filing period. The Petition must be filed at least 75 days prior to the exam you wish to take.

February 2021 Massachusetts administration of the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE)
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the February 2021 UBE will be administered remotely in Massachusetts. The February 2021 filing period will open on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, with a filing deadline of Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
Exam Dates: February 23-24, 2021.
Filing Deadline: You must file the Petition for Admission by Examination by December 23, 2020.
Important Minimum System Requirements Update: Examinees for the February 2021bar exam should NOT plan to use a new Mac device with a new M1 microchip for the exam.

October 2020 Remote Bar Exam:
Results will be released December 8, 2020. The Massachusetts Law Component must be successfully completed to be eligible for admission to the Massachusetts bar.
