The LSP Board determines your eligibility to take the exam. When you submit an application, it is reviewed and approved by LSP Board members to ensure that you meet the qualifications of education, experience and good moral character.
You can download the application materials available on this page, or request them by calling, writing, or emailing the LSP Board.
You must submit an Application Fee of $245 with your completed Application.
If your application is denied, you can reapply at any time.
When we review your application we consider the following
Good Moral Character
In order to apply under the Standard Track, you must have earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctorate from a recognized educational institution.
Your degree, major, or concentration must be listed in Appendix A of the LSP Board’s licensing regulation, 309 CMR 3.00.
You must have eight (8) years of total professional experience and five (5) years of relevant professional experience. At least three (3) years of your relevant professional experience must have taken place in the last five (5) years prior to submission of your application.
If you have earned a high school diploma but to not meet the educational requirements for the Standard Track, then you may apply under the Alternate Track.
We require you to have more experience than those who are applying under the Standard Track. You must have fourteen (14) years of total professional experience and seven (7) years of relevant professional experience. At least three (3) years of your relevant professional experience must have taken place in the last five (5) years prior to submission of your application.
