The CZM Grant Viewer is an interactive map of grants awarded by CZM, the Buzzards Bay National Estuary Program (NEP), and the Massachusetts Bays National Estuary Partnership (MassBays). It includes grants awarded throughout the Massachusetts Coastal Zone and Coastal Watershed, representing a strong investment in clean estuaries, resilient coasts, and healthy habitats.

Grant Programs Included in the Viewer
The viewer includes projects funded by these grant programs:
- Coastal Resilience Grant Program - This CZM program provides grants and technical assistance to coastal municipalities and eligible nonprofit organizations to advance innovative local efforts to address coastal flooding, erosion, and sea level rise impacts through communication and public outreach initiatives, vulnerability assessments, planning activities, engineering projects, and natural storm damage protection.
- Coastal Pollutant Remediation (CPR) Grant Program - These grants, administered by CZM since 1996, provide funding to municipalities in the Massachusetts Coastal Watershed to address nonpoint source pollution impacting coastal habitats and water quality. Projects include assessment of nonpoint source pollutant sources, prioritization of sites for remediation, and the design, permitting, and construction of appropriate stormwater Best Management Practices and commercial boat-waste pumpout facilities.
- Buzzards Bay NEP Grants and Funding - These grants assist interested Buzzards Bay watershed municipalities in the protection of open space, rare and endangered species habitat, and freshwater and saltwater wetlands, and help restore tidally restricted salt marshes, purchase oil spill containment equipment, restore fish runs, and remediate stormwater discharges threatening water quality. Grants are also occasionally made available to nonprofits and other entities for efforts that implement goals of the Buzzards Bay Buzzards Bay Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. Funds are made available in accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Cooperative Agreements.
- MassBays Healthy Estuaries Grant Program - MassBays provides funding and technical assistance for projects in Massachusetts Bay, Cape Cod Bay, and Ipswich Bay that advance the goals of the MassBays Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. Funds support local initiatives to protect, restore, and enhance estuarine habitats and inform management efforts and decisionmaking to enhance sustainable estuarine ecosystems that support life and the communities dependent upon them.
