Grounds for filing an appeal with the Department of Transitional Assistance

Learn about the reasons for which you can file an appeal with the Department of Transitional Assistance's (DTA) Division of Hearings (DOH).

If you disagree with a decision made or an action taken by DTA, you can file an appeal and request a fair hearing with the Division of Hearings (DOH).

There are different reasons why you might do this. The following are some examples that can be appealed:

  • Denial of your benefits application,
  • Reduction or termination of your benefits,
  • Denied an accommodation request (Americans with Disabilities Act).

If you want to file an appeal, see our guide on how to file an appeal with DTA.
