Legal help for veterans and servicemembers

The Attorney General's Office can help connect veterans with legal help.

The Legal Services Center of Harvard Law has a Veterans Law Unit that assists veterans in need of legal help. You can also contact Veterans Legal Services on their website or at (857) 317-4474. The Military Legal Help Line can also help you locate low-cost legal services and can be reached at (800) 552-7046. You can contact your local Veterans' Service Officers for answers to questions about your benefits and obtaining financial assistance.

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act provides legal protections for active duty servicemembers. More information about specific protections are available in our Resource Guide for Veterans and Servicemembers.
