Vitals Information Partnership (VIP)

The Department of Public Health (DPH) streamlines all vital event registration through the VIP.

As of September 30, 2024, death registrations will no longer be processed using the VIP system. Any death record started in VIP prior to this date must be completed in VIP as there will be no migration of incomplete records. The new system for processing death registrations is MAVRIC (Massachusetts Vital Records Information Collaborative). Our long-term goal is to expand MAVRIC to include births, marriages, court orders to amend vital records, fetal deaths, and other vital event data. We also want to support statewide issuance of certified copies of vital records by any city or town in the Commonwealth.​
