Vitals Information Partnership (VIP)

The Department of Public Health (DPH) streamlines all vital event registration through the VIP.

The VIP aims to streamline and integrate all vital registrations across the Commonwealth. We have already created and registered hundreds of thousands of birth records. We've also processed many thousands of paternities, amendments, and certified copies. In 2014, we expanded the VIP to include death registration.

Our long-term goal is to expand this system further. We want to include marriages, court orders to amend vital records, fetal deaths, and other vital event data. We also want to support statewide issuance of certified copies of vital records by any city or town in the Commonwealth.
