The Governor's Council provides advice and consent on gubernatorial appointments, pardons and commutations, and warrants for the state treasury.

The Group Insurance Commission (GIC) provides high-quality, affordable health insurance and other benefit options to over 220,000 subscribers and 460,000 members.

Highway Division

The MassDOT Highway Division designs, constructs, maintains and operates the state’s highways, bridges and tunnels. We also assist cities and towns with their road and bridge needs to help ensure that all people can travel safely and efficiently throughout the state.

House of Representatives

Consists of 160 members, each representing a district of approximately 40,000 people.

The Housing Court Department handles all matters involving residential housing such as eviction cases, small claims cases, and civil actions involving personal injury, property damage, breach of contract, discrimination, as well as code enforcement actions and appeals of local zoning board decisions that affect residential housing.
