Public Hearing on EFSB Application Fees (DPU 26-30)
Overview
The Department is conducting a virtual public hearing to receive comments on adopting Energy Facilities Siting Board (EFSB) Application Fees, consistent with the requirements of the 2024 Climate Act. The Department is seeking comments on the following topics:
- Possible alternative fee structures
- Whether the Department should assess Application Base Fees to utility applicants for Consolidated Permits as well as non-Clean Energy Infrastructure Facility (CEIF) legacy Facilities

The public hearing will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. For audio-only access to the hearings, attendees can dial-in at 646-558-8658 (not toll free) and then enter Meeting ID# 813 7136 2036. If you anticipate providing comments over Zoom, please send an email by Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to timothy.federico@mass.gov and amelia.gianetta4@mass.gov with your name, email, and mailing address. This hearing will be conducted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, and American Sign Language (ASL). To request interpretation and/or translation in an additional language, please send an email to dpu.ej@mass.gov by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Any person interested in commenting on this matter may submit written comments no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
