What you need   for Cancel direct deposit for your unemployment benefits

If you cancel direct deposit for your Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits it will take effect immediately. 

To cancel direct deposit online, you will need your login information for UI Online.

To cancel direct deposit by phone, you will need your:

  • Social Security number
  • 4-digit TeleCert Personal Identification Number (PIN).

How to cancel   Cancel direct deposit for your unemployment benefits

  1. Log in to your UI Online account.
  2. Select View and maintain account information located on the left pane.
  3. Select Payment method options, read the pre-acquisition disclosures, and and click Edit.
  4. Select the Debit Card button and click Submit.

  1. Call the DUA direct deposit line at (617) 626-6570.
  2. Choose which language you would like to listen to the instructions in.
  3. Select option 2 to cancel your direct deposit.
  4. Enter your Social Security number.
  5. Enter your 4-digit TeleCert Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN was selected at the time you filed for unemployment benefits.
  6. Wait until you hear a message confirming that your direct deposit has been cancelled before hanging up.

Your future benefit payments will be issued to your existing DUA-approved debit card, the U.S. Bank ReliaCard®. If you do not already have a ReliaCard®, you will be issued one after you update your payment method option and read the pre-acquisition disclosures.
