What you need
The Division of Ecological Restoration (DER) has released a Request for Responses (RFR) for designated Culvert Replacement Training Sites to continue culvert replacement work in Fiscal Year 2026. Only existing DER-designated Culvert Replacement Training Site projects that have not finished construction are eligible for funding and only projects that intend to meet the goals of the Massachusetts Stream Crossing Standards will be considered for funding.
DER’s Culvert Replacement Training Site Initiative is a network of culvert replacement sites across the state that serve as case studies and provide training opportunities for local road managers. This initiative aims to create a network of road managers with advanced experience implementing culvert replacements that meet the Massachusetts Stream Crossing Standards.
Projects were accepted into the Culvert Replacement Training Site Initiative as part of previous competitive procurement processes. For more information and to be informed about new or upcoming culvert funding opportunities and announcements, please subscribe to the Culvert Connections Newsletter. Please note that this procurement is independent of the Culvert Replacement Municipal Assistance (CRMA) grant, and communities with an existing DER-designated Culvert Replacement Training Site project are eligible to apply for their training site under this Request for Responses (RFR) and to apply for another site(s) under the CRMA grant RFR.
The Request for Responses (RFR) is now closed.
How to apply
The Request for Responses (RFR) is currently closed and applications are no longer being accepted.
