You can use the temporary plate permit for an inspection if needed.

If you lose your front registration plate, you must create a temporary registration plate displaying the plate number and affix the temporary registration plate to the front of the motor vehicle or trailer. The temporary plate must also conform to the requirements for regular number plates.

If you lose your rear registration plate, you must affix the front registration plate to the rear of the motor vehicle or trailer and request a replacement registration decal to place on the registration plate.
