What is available

The Citation Portal provides civil motor vehicle infraction (citation) related data in easy to understand pre-built reports. You can also create your own data analysis queries. Please take the time to explore the various options and find what is right for you.

The following modules are available on the Citation Portal:

  • Interactive data dashboards tell powerful stories using maps, charts, and tables. These dashboards provide an interactive summary of Citation and Violation data. There are multiple tabs at the bottom that allow the user to select specific Visualizations that they can use to analyze the data from different perspectives.
  • Data query and visualization (Q&V) provides a way to query and visualize data in a chart, table, and map.  The Q&V tool guides the user through a series of steps to query on a subset of data that can be reviewed and inspected. The user is provided with a list of data fields they can select from and then they are given filters that allow the user to select the specific subset of data they are interested in.
  • Data extraction is where you can request data by year and municipality and get a file emailed to you. Data Extraction provides the user with the ability to get an email that contains an excel file for a given location and year of data. The data can be at either the Citation Data level or the Violation Data level.
  • Reports provide a suite of pre-built reports across a variety of categories.  There are a series of reports broken into two different categories. There are agency level summary reports and then detailed reports that return data at the officer badge level.
  • Citation tabulation and charting is a way to combine selected data in a matrix form.  The Citation Tabulation and Charting tool provides the user with the opportunity to dig into the overall data set at either the Citation or Violation Data level. They are allowed to select data fields to be populated into a table. The user is given the opportunity to select how the data will be displayed at the row and column level.
  • Citation tree is a way to view data in a visual hierarchy.  The Citation Tree allows analysis of data counts in a tree format. The user is provided an interface to select the time range they want to focus in on. They are also provided additional filters to select subsets of data to further focus their analysis.

The Test of Proportions provides the user with the ability to compare data sets to identify over-representation of specific fields of data. The user goes through a series of steps to determine the subject and comparison groups. Then the determine the fields of data they would like to further analyze for over representation.
