Massachusetts regulations require you to have a valid station license to continue performing vehicle inspections. Inspection station licenses must be renewed every year. A current DOR Certificate of Good Standing is also required when renewing your station license.

How to renew Renew your vehicle inspection station license
Follow the steps below to renew your inspection station license:
• Complete the online application
If you would like access to the eServices portal, you must complete and submit the RMV Business Partner Contact Form and eServices Administrator Access Form.
Both documents will be sent automatically to the RMV when you click on the blue Submit or Click to Sign button. You must complete both documents to get a web logon.
• Upload either a certificate of compliance or certificate of good standing from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) for all Massachusetts corporate, trustee, and other taxes to which the customer is subject to. The documents should not be dated more than 60 days prior to the submission to the RMV
• Submit the applicable fees payable by credit/debit card or echeck

A licensee may request a change of business location and such change may be authorized provided that the business remains in the city or town in which it is currently licensed and provided it complies with all rules, regulations and policies of the Registrar. All change of location requests shall be approved at the discretion of the Registrar.
