The Details

What you need

Applicants must provide the following information for consideration of a research request by DCJIS:

  • Application to Access CORI for Research Purposes via webform
  • Signed non-disclosure agreement via webform
  • Copy of research proposal, including the criminal justice purpose, scope, and timeline of the study.
  • If you are requesting CORI from a criminal justice agency that is not DCJIS, a letter of support from that agency is required.

Approved applicants will receive a letter confirming the approval. Approvals are valid for one year from the date of the approval letter. If CORI access is necessary past the application expiration date, a renewal application must be requested prior to the expiration of the existing approval.

All research organizations approved for research purposes must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including 803 CMR 8.00 et. seq. Any individual that will access CORI on behalf of an organization approved for research must complete an individual agreement of non-disclosure. The principal researcher is responsible for retaining these non-disclosure agreements.
