Helpful Hints

  • If you are trying to login into UI Online and last had a claim prior to 7/1/2013, you will be required to enter in the answer to your security question (your mother's maiden name) upon clicking the 'forgot password' link.  Only enter in the first four letters of your mother's maiden name
  • For claims filed after 7/1/2013, the answer to your security question required to reset your password is only one word (example: If the answer to your security question is 'New Orleans', you should be entering 'NewOrleans').

Updates

We recognize that many claimants have had difficulties with their Password when logging into UI Online to file a new Unemployment claim. To address this, the Department of Unemployment Assistance has made the following changes to the Password Resets based off of your feedback:

  • Webcert User ID and Password:
    • We've added a message pushing you to use the Forgot Password feature if you don't remember your Webcert User ID (which is not your Social Security Number) and password to login rather than make multiple attempts and lock yourself out of the system.
  • Legacy Security Question and Answer:
    • When Webcert/ Telecert user IDs were converted to UI Online, we initially converted your old security question and answer. This caused the 4 characters of the mother’s maiden name from Legacy (our prior system) to be converted to the new profile. This is now fixed so you are instead prompted to create a new Security Question and Answer.
  • Reset Password Options:
    • We enable Multi-Factor Authentication for former Telecert and Webcert users if we have an email address or phone number of yours stored in our system.
    • We have allowed anyone with Multi-Factor Authentication to use your Legacy security question to reset your password (for example, you no longer have access to the email or phone number).
  • Security Answers:
    • Providing an incorrect Security Answer locks the claimant’s account after 3 “strikes” (incorrect responses). Therefore, changes were made to:
      • not count as a “strike” any attempts where the Security Answer contains unacceptable characters (symbols, non-English letters, etc.); and
      • ignore space characters at the beginning, inside and at the end of the provided answer to handle answers like "New Orleans " <space between w and O and after the s >

We hope these changes we have made will alleviate any issues you may have logging into UI Online and allow you to successfully file or access your Unemployment claim.
