Submit evidence to the Crime Lab

Evidence from law enforcement agencies will be submitted to the Evidence Control Unit in accordance with Crime Laboratory evidence submission schedules and by appointment only.

What you need

All evidence being submitted to the Crime Lab must be submitted by an authorized agency. The evidence must be identified, inventoried and sealed prior to submission. Packaging material should protect the evidence from contamination, alteration and tampering. Please refer to the guides included on the Evidence Submission page for information regarding standard procedures for packaging evidence to be submitted to the Crime Lab.

You will need:

  • An appointment to submit evidence
  • Your packaged and sealed evidence
  • A completed Evidence Submission Form (ESF)*
  • The police report with relevant case information (For all cases except drug analysis)

*As of November 1, 2024, a separate SP295 Drug Submission Form is no longer required for Drug Evidence.
