What you need   for Transfer your Motorcycle Rider Education Program (MREP) certificate from out-of-state

You are eligible to receive your Massachusetts motorcycle license (Class M) if you have:

  • A valid Massachusetts motorcycle learner's permit

  • Your Motorcycle Safety Foundation completion card issued from out of state

  • Your rider course skill evaluation and knowledge test on the school's letterhead

Motorcycle Endorsement (on existing license) Fee $15 each

How to transfer   Transfer your Motorcycle Rider Education Program (MREP) certificate from out-of-state

Submit the following paperwork within 180 days of the training:

  • A completed Application to accept an out-of-state Motorcycle Rider Education Program certificate
  • A copy of your motorcycle (Class M) learner’s permit

  • A copy of your Motorcycle Safety Foundation completion card

  • A copy of your rider course skill evaluation and knowledge test on the school's letterhead

  • Payment of the $15 endorsement fee.

  • Mail your check or money order payable to MassDOT along with required documentation to:
