Design System Community of Practice

This Community of Practice (CoP) brings together designers, developers, and accessibility specialists who are leveraging the Massachusetts Design System to create digital experiences for residents.

What is the Design System Community of Practice?

The CoP is a space for project teams building public-facing digital services to get support, share experiences, and stay updated on the latest Design Systems developments. Using a shared Microsoft Team chat space, the CoP is where you can:

• Ask questions about using design system components, styles, and templates
• Get guidance on UI design, accessibility, and UX best practices
• Share feedback and use cases that can help improve the design system
• Stay informed about updates, new components, and evolving standards
• Get direct access to the Design System team for support
• Connect with developers and designers from other organizations

How we provide support

Our team is here to:

• Help you learn the basics of how to use Figma as a designer or developer if the tool is new to you
• Work with your team if the existing components don't meet your needs
• Assist teams with applying the Massachusetts Design System visual brand correctly and consistently
• Answer questions through community channels and office hours
• Provide guidance on how to design accessible digital experiences
• Gather your feedback and experiences to help improve the Massachusetts Design System
