Good Recordkeeping = Good Tax Compliance

A reminder to business owners that flexing your recordkeeping muscles saves time and effort. Good recordkeeping habits will not only help you to prepare accurate sales or meals tax returns all year -  it will also help you file an accurate year-end return to report your business income. We recommend keeping separate personal and business records.  We also strongly suggest that you familiarize yourself with DOR’s Record Retention RegulationIf you’re a sales and meals tax filer, you’ll want to review Directive 16-1 about electronic recordkeeping.

Mark your calendars for some upcoming due dates:

  • 9/15/23 – Estimated Payments – third quarter
