What’s new on the DOR website?

Fresh content is shaping up over on the DOR website this summer. Webpages are being redesigned to make it easier for taxpayers to find information and complete tasks. The boating sales & use tax webpage features new simplified language. A new Professional License Renewal FAQ page was created to answer questions about licenses, along with a revamped Certificate of Good Standing page. Take a look around the new pages when you get a chance.

We’d love your feedback on the tax filing season

As the 2021 filing season wraps up, we’d love to hear how the season went for you and your clients. Let us know if there’s anything you would like to see changed or improved on forms or instructions.  We also want to know if your questions were answered through the DOR website or by contacting DOR. We welcome feedback. Send us a note with any suggestions. We’re always looking to make things easier.

Mark your calendars

Here are a few important dates to keep in mind for the next few weeks:

Don’t forget to register those rentals

Summer is upon us. There’s no time like the present to register a short-term rental property on MassTaxConnect.  If you haven’t already, all operators are required to register, regardless of how long a property is rented and even if the rental is handled by an intermediary. Our Room Occupancy Excise page is a great resource for learning more. It includes FAQs, definitions and much more.
