Enhanced monitoring at RegalCare long-term care facilities
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) initiated proceedings to revoke the authority of RegalCare’s current owner to operate long-term care facilities in Massachusetts following serious concerns about the quality of care and the suitability of current ownership. As the regulatory process moves forward, DPH placed the 12 RegalCare nursing homes in Massachusetts under enhanced monitoring to protect residents and hold the facilities accountable for providing safe, high-quality, compassionate care. The facilities remain open, and residents are not being asked to relocate as a result of this action. DPH remains committed to keeping residents, families, and staff informed throughout the process.
These answers to frequently asked questions may help explain the regulatory process, enhanced oversight of the facilities, and where to turn for additional information and support.
